By working closely with the Teachers' Retirement Agency, TES has compiled a range of free, relevant and valuable information and advice for those who are considering retirement. The articles range from essential things to know about retirement to inspirational life story accounts by retired teachers who have found fulfillment beyond the classroom.
TRA recommends TES as a very valuable and informative resource for teachers and those involved in the education profession. Visit the TES Connect Retirement for teachers online resource.
BBT Group Ltd
In the 21st century few people would question the need for a financial plan which enables them to achieve their objectives. The TRA is neither authorised, regulated nor qualified to give financial advice and are therefore pleased to endorse the services of Bebbington Brumby Townend Group Ltd*. Their highly qualified Independent Financial Advisers meet the needs of our delegates through their retirement counselling division, who present at our courses and seminars.
The TRA stringently maintains and evaluates the standard of the courses. The majority of our attendees require financial information on the Teachers' Pension Scheme, State Pension and related matters when preparing for retirement. As a result we invite experienced, qualified presenters from Bebbington Brumby Townend Group Ltd, to provide impartial, expert advice to our seminar attendees. Individual advice and consultations are available following the course as required. For more information visit www.bbtgroup.co.uk

Living Learning English
Living Learning English requires EFL teachers to host and teach students in their own homes. General, Business or Academic English, adults and teenagers. 15-30 hours 1:1 tuition per week plus excursions. They are looking for welcoming teachers with comfortable homes who can offer homestay teaching from as little as one week per year. Flexible working arrangements and good rates are paid.
Living Learning English is an established, British Council accredited, English Language Homestay organisation. Their students, mainly from France, Germany, Switzerland, Japan and Russia come to England to live and study in the home of their teacher. Living as part of a family means they are able to experience British culture at first-hand, as well as being totally immersed in the English language. They have students of all ages from teenagers to business clients.
As a homestay teacher you will be able to enjoy the benefits of working from home and organising your own working day. This is also a very rewarding way of teaching; students are usually very self-motivated, hard-working and make good progress. Living Learning English supplies all your course materials, but you are free to use any of your own ideas and materials.

Can you volunteer for ChildLine’s brand new Schools Service?
A new volunteer service from the NSPCC’s ChildLine is being rolled out across schools in the UK. The innovative new ChildLine Schools Service is aimed at primary age children, particularly focusing on seven to 11 year olds, and aims to help them understand what abuse is, how to protect themselves and how to seek help if they need it – including through ChildLine. In keeping with ChildLine’s commitment to volunteering, the new schools service will be led by volunteers. They will be trained to deliver safeguarding assemblies and interactive workshops in schools. Eventually the ChildLine schools service hopes to help every primary age child to recognise and protect themselves from abuse. By 2016 the aim is to visit every primary school in the UK at least every two years. To find out more about the new ChildLine Schools Service and volunteering opportunities please visit www.nspcc.org.uk/schoolsservice
